Thanks to a tip, Eric Gracen's sister has been located.

Thank you all for your assistance during this tragedy. My case notes have been turned over to Homicide.

Autopsy results will not be released as this is an open investigation.

Eric Gracen: Next of Kin

In Missing Persons, we always hope that every case ends in the missing person being reunited with their loved ones. Sadly, this was not the case for Eric Gracen.

I am no longer able to share my case notes with anyone but homicide investigators.

However, we are trying to locate Eric's next of kin. A return visit to the Office of Admissions for Eric's college application revealed that Gracen's file has been misplaced.

If you have any information - about his next of kin, or about Eric - his enemies, his friends, anything - please leave it in the comments, here or on Valemont University's Facebook group. We ask that you share publicly, as your recollection, your memory may spark someone else's, which could potentially lead us to Eric's killer.

Eric Gracen Found

A pair of hunters discovered a body in Emry Forest that has been positively identified as Eric Gracen.

The case is now being investigated as a homicide.

Campus Interviews

Student who lived in the room next to Eric's last year.

Info received from Housing Office.
Requested that name not be used
Haven't seen Eric since school let out last year.
Impressions: Eric was either "totally quiet" or "jacked up."
Might not hear anything for days, then it sounded like "a party in there."
When asked to keep it down, Eric was argumentative.
Never saw signs of drug use.

Gracen Background

Went to Valemont U Office of Admissions to gather family background from Eric's application.
Office of Admissions said personal records are sealed, without permission from applicant, cannot be released.
Went back to original missing persons report - no indication of who reported Eric missing?

Faculty Interview

Professor Nicholas Blunt

Eric's Student Adviser
Reiterates Prof Tracy's recollections but didn't think Eric was on drugs.
Spoke about yesterday's site hacking. Offered to get police involved to pull info for ValemontSux. Prof Blunt refused, said this is a "private university matter."
Wondered if Eric not really missing, part of a "hoax." [CL note - Don't think this is the case.]

Eric's Dorm Room

No sign of forced entry.
No sign that Eric was preparing for a trip - personal effects still in place, but nothing personal - no cards, letters, photos of friends/family.
No laptop/computer/cell phone.

Anonymous Tip

Mole in Valemont Study Group says group is for "exchange of information."

Faculty Interview

Spoke to Prof Blunt briefly, who recalled Eric having a cell phone.
No leads on last week's hack.
Stressed that Eric's profile - and all student profiles - are password-protected, password selected by students.

Eric seemed conflicted, "struggling with something."
No info on friends or associates.
Attendance spotty, but engaged when he was in class
Missed midterms
Promised he was compiling an "alternate history" paper, that would "expose their secrets."
Prof suspected drugs?

I'm Casey Loomis and I'm an independent investigator working with Valemont University Campus Police and local authorities on the Eric Gracen case. You'll see me on campus conducting interviews and collecting data.

A current photo of Eric Gracen can be found on his student profile. Because of the nature of this investigation, Eric's profile information has been locked to the public and can only be viewed by current and prospective students. I'm working with Professor Nicholas Blunt on securing additional photos of Eric.
